HOW WE CAN SERVE YOU
We are here to help in many ways please use the contact form below to get in touch.
WEDDINGS
To be married in the Knaresborough team of churches one of the couple needs to live in the parish, to worship in the parish, or to have a "qualifying connection". The qualifying connection may be a family connection to the parish - they may have grown up here or they or their parents may have been married here. To qualify by worship we look to regular attendance for a period of at least six months. Please contact the parish office for more information.
Unfortunately we are not currently allowed to celebrate same-sex weddings in church but please do get in touch to discuss how we can support you in other meaningful ways.
Our marriage information booklet can be found here
BAPTISMS
We are delighted that you are thinking about baptism, whether that is because you are considering being baptised yourself, or having your child baptised, or because you have been invited to be a godparent.
Baptism is an very significant step in the Christian journey: not only for the person being baptised, but also for the whole Christian family which is encouraged and renewed in faith
FUNERALS
The clergy count it a privilege to be invited to conduct the funeral of a parishioner.
Whilst we can be contacted direct, often arrangements are made through the funeral director, and we are blessed with caring and sensitive undertakers locally.
The person who will be conducting the funeral will be in touch with the bereaved, and will meet them, both to be with them in their grief and to discuss the detail of the funeral service.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation Group 2023
Tom Barratt, Carmen Atkinson, James de Bussy, James Pickard and Jack Hartley.
The confirmation was held jointly with St Robert’s Pannal with Tony, the Bishop of Wakefield officiating.
What is confirmation?
Confirmation is a safe space for our youth (year 5 and up) to ask tough questions, to wrestle with their faith and to have fun learning about God together. It’s a step in a life-long journey of pursuing the heights, depths, and breadth of God’s love!
What should I expect?
You should expect to have fun while growing in faith. We will cover a wide variety of topics including:
My story and why am I here?
Where is God in the world?
Questions I’ve always wanted to ask?
How to pray.
In preparation for confirmation, the clergy will hold 2 preparation meetings
(Due to good practice and safeguarding there will always be two DBS checked church leaders present)
Adults are also welcome to be confirmed, please speak to a member of the Clergy for more information.
If you are interested in being confirmed please email knaresboroughparishoffice@gmail.com with your name and we'll get back to you.
