WELCOME

Our church and team welcome

We welcome those who are single, married, divorced, widowed, gay, straight, confused, filthy rich, comfortable or dirt poor…

We welcome wailing babies, excited toddlers, the perplexed middle-aged, those who are over 60 but not grown up yet, and teenagers who are growing up too fast…

We welcome keep-fit mums, football dads, starving artists, tree-huggers,

latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters…

We welcome those who are in-recovery or still addicted,

those with ‘problems’ and ‘issues’, or those simply 'down in the dumps'…

We welcome those who don’t really like ‘organised religion’,

or those who come faithfully and loyally week after week…

We welcome you whether you can sing like Tom Jones or Adele,

or if you prefer to mumble to yourself quietly…

We welcome you if you’re just passing and fancied a look-see, if you are browsing,

if you’re running past, ambling or shuffling…

We welcome you if you are inked, pierced, both or neither…

We welcome those who work too hard, and those who don’t work at all;

who have just gotten out of bed, or just gotten out of prison…

We welcome you if you’ve been dragged here by a relative and haven’t

been to church for years, or if you got religion shoved down your throat

when you were young and it put you right off…

We welcome you if you are a tourist, a pilgrim, a seeker, a doubter,

or if you’ve wound up here by mistake…

We welcome you if you simply want to pray right now…

We welcome you all!

THE REVD GARRY HINCHCLIFFE

Team Rector

A native West Coast Scot he trained for ministry at Edinburgh Theological College and Edinburgh University before being ordained in his sponsoring diocese of Glasgow and Galloway in 1994. His ministry has included serving in Dumfries and Galloway and North Lanarkshire before moving to this diocese’s predecessor - Ripon and Leeds - in 2000. He is very much a people person and enjoys nothing more than spending time with regular parishioners, visitors, enquirers or anybody who has a particular or pressing need.
He is married to Sue and even though most of their children have flown the nest, their two little dogs keep them busy. Email - Garry.Hinchcliffe@leeds.anglican.org or call 07759 614032

Don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are always here for you.
